Terrorist attacks on a residential area in Kabul killed at least 25 people and wounded dozens, informed sources said. The attacks took place on Monday, with blasts targeting groups of civilians in a crowded residential neighborhood. Reports indicated that children and women were among the dead, sparking widespread anger among Afghans.
The Afghan Interior Ministry spokesperson said the terrorist groups that carried out the attacks aimed to undermine security and stability in the country. The spokesperson stressed that the government would do everything it could to pursue those responsible for these criminal acts, adding that security forces had increased their presence in key areas to ensure citizens’ safety.
Commenting on the incident, one survivor said: “It was a tragic day. I lost my friends and family in these attacks. We live in fear and anxiety, and we demand that the government protect our lives.”
The international community strongly condemned the attacks. Several countries issued statements expressing solidarity with the Afghan people and calling for the perpetrators to be held accountable. The United Nations also stressed the importance of collective action to combat terrorism and achieve peace in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has seen an increase in violence in recent years, raising concerns about the future of security and stability in the country and adding to the suffering of citizens already enduring the effects of the continuing conflict.
